The academy also provides general advice on lifestyle management, fitness testing, and professional development. The first team play their academy home games at Llanelli AFC and the Development side play their homes games at Coleg Sir Gâr's Graig Campus in Llanelli. The students will benefit from the excellent on-site facilities the college has for football including a fitness suite, gymnasium and a floodlight Astroturf surface for all year round training. The Football Academy competes in the British Colleges Football Academy League (South West Division) and the British and Welsh Colleges Football Academy Cup. The Football Academy recognises the importance of ensuring young football players have a secondary career, which they can take up along side their football careers. This is crucial to the aims of the Academy as we provide everything a young player requires to reach his/her playing potential and will also provide courses, including coaching development, and services to ensure social, academic and/or vocational development. All squad members will have the opportunity to take, The FAW Football Leaders Certificate and FA recognized First Aid qualification, to help them to progress in their future careers. The Footbal Development Centre will launch a female football team to compete in the Welsh & Britsh Colleges Cup from September 2009.
