When Welsh Netball first proposed its' Junior Academy scheme in 2002 Coleg Sir Gâr was one of the first Colleges to be awarded Academy Status.

Although the system has changed in recent years Coleg Sir Gâr Netball Academy is now firmly established as one of the top College Netball Academies in Wales. 

The standard of players is evident in the number of Academy girls representing West Wales, being selected to represent Welsh Colleges and even Wales. 

The Academy provides the support and encouragement young netballers need to develop their sport alongside their academic studies. We work closely with the Welsh Netball Association providing quality, up to date technical training alongside modern conditioning programs. The Academy also offers fitness testing, advice on nutrition and lifestyle management.

The Academy participates in a wide range of Leagues and Tournaments across South Wales and into England providing regular high standard competition

Opportunities are also provided for Academy girls to undertake coaching and umpiring Awards. Many of our Academy girls are involved in coaching in the community with the local Netball Development Officer.

Our aim is to provide sport science support to enable netballers of all standards to improve and achieve their potential as people and players.
